London is running out of space to bury people

Source: Greater London Authority, March 2026. Figures show how many years of municipal space each borough has left at current burial rates. “No space” means no provision for new graves; residents can still be buried elsewhere. The report gives no years-left estimate for Newham, so I calculated one from its figures for reclaimed graves and recent burials. The report has no usable estimate for Haringey or Lambeth. It says Sutton was likely already full at the time of publication.
