Ranked view

Across London, 42.1% of households had no car or van in 2021. The share ranged from 21.5% in Havering to 77.2% in the City of London.

Methodology: Census data from Office for National Statistics, 2021. The visualisation shows the share of all households reporting no cars or vans available to household members. In rank view, London’s 33 local authorities, including the City of London, are ordered from the lowest share to the highest. Switch to map view to rearrange the same borough shapes geographically. Borough colour follows the majority shown in the bars: red where most households have at least one car or van, and teal where most households have none. Colour intensity increases with distance from 50%. Percentages are shown to one decimal place.
