According to the Guardian, Chicken Shop Date “helped to legitimise YouTube as a platform that has taken on – and perhaps beaten – television.” In 12 years, its guests went from grime artists to Billie Eilish and Paul McCartney.

To map that history, I started with a fan-compiled list of filming locations, then checked the entries against the videos and filled in the gaps. Of 115 episodes published between 2014 and 2026, 91 were filmed at 43 identifiable locations in London. Twelve were filmed outside London, four online, and eight could not be geolocated. I matched each London branch to its postcode and coordinates.

The dataset can tell us more than where the dates happened. It also shows which chicken shops became part of the show. Morley’s hosted 22 London dates, Sam’s Chicken 19 and Kasey’s Chicken 10. Together, those three chains account for 56% of all the London dates I could map.
