The Elizabeth line reshaped London’s busiest stations

From 2005 to 2019, the same four stations were London’s busiest: Waterloo, Victoria, Liverpool Street and London Bridge. Covid briefly mixed things up. Then the Elizabeth line changed the ranking again.

Purple shows stations served by the Elizabeth line today. Before it opened in 2022, the same colour marks stations that would later join the line. By 2023, six of London’s ten busiest stations were on the Elizabeth line.

Methodology: Office of Rail and Road estimates of annual station entries and exits; interchanges excluded.
